One of the nightmare creatures drawn for Dragon Magazine #324.

Colors by the talented Christine Choi of UDON.

From the original art notes:
A humanoid figure formed of pure shadow floats before you. It is surrounded by a nimbus of light, but this does not illuminate the surrounding area; it only serves to highlight the absolute darkness of the being within. The figure itself is completely featureless, but a host of disembodied eyes of all shapes and sizes whirl around it. These eyes are constantly shifting, appearing and disappearing, sometimes fading away, other times bursting like bubbles.

Man, I loved this version of the critter. When they put it in another book, I was hugely disappointed that they didn't use your art from the Dragon magazine article -- it's just so much more evocative of alien nightmares.

Beautiful, beautiful work, sir.
